Hope in the Struggle
Wednesday Sept. 10, 2025
Scripture Reading: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.’” Revelation 7:9–10
Reflection: Life in this world is full of storms. Bills that pile up, doctor’s calls we weren’t expecting, grief that lingers long after the funeral. Revelation doesn’t hide from that. Revelation confronts it. The seals remind us that the world is broken, and following Jesus doesn’t mean life will be easy. But John is given a vision in the middle of that struggle: a multitude from every nation, standing before the throne of God. They stand, not because they are strong, but because the Lamb has carried them through. Their story is our story. When we worship, every Sunday or even throughout the week we join that multitude. Every hymn we sing is a preview of that eternal chorus. Every act of faithfulness, loving the unlovable, standing with the broken, is perseverance by grace. And every step we take reminds us that suffering is temporary, but God’s victory is eternal.
Consider This: Take one struggle you’re carrying today and imagine placing it at the feet of the Lamb’s throne. Then sing a hymn you know by heart (Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, Come Thou Fount). Let it remind you that you are not alone, you are part of a multitude across time and space, singing the same song.
Prayer:
Lord, when life feels heavy, lift my eyes to Your throne. Remind me that my struggles are real, but they are not forever. Give me courage to persevere, not in my own strength, but in Your grace. Thank You that the Lamb walks with me in the storm and leads me to living water. Amen.
