Beginning November 1, see “The Chosen” Wednesday evenings at Grace! An episode of “The Chosen,” a historical television series about the life and ministry of Jesus, will be shown each Wednesday at 6:30 with a discussion following. While it is possible to watch the three seasons released so far on your own, conversations with others will provide deeper understanding of Jesus’ life and possibly allow participants to grow in their own appreciation of the scriptural meaning of each episode.
Please join us at Grace Wednesday evenings at 6:30 for an entertaining and meaningful fellowship with friends. Sometimes someone from the group will bring a treat to share!
“The Chosen” series is different than any story of Jesus previously produced. The crowdfunded production by Angel Studios is beautifully filmed, costumed and performed. It places Jesus and his disciples in authentic-looking scenery and allows the viewer to personally connect with each of the characters. The planned seven seasons provides ample opportunity for each episode to fully examine the gospel story it is portraying.
For more information about “The Chosen” you may visit the website at https://thechosen.tv/en-us.
Also visit this page (click here) on the Chosen website for a series of videos (including all three seasons of the series currently aired). At the bottom of this page are discussions, called “Bible Roundtable” with spiritual leaders about the authenticity and liberties taken with the script. Watching the roundtable corresponding to an episode just watched will provide historical and biblical context as well as theological views from different perspectives.
